Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - FNL 2 Good as ever
FNL Season 2 doesn't dissapoint. Just as good as season one. This is the 2nd best show on TV (behind only The Wire).

Rating: 4 out of 5 stars - Best show on TV in a very long time!
Although uneven at the beginning of the season, the second season of Friday Night Lights still packed the emotional and dramatic punch of season one, furthering developing the arcs of these characters' lives with sensitivity and authenticity. The show's writing, acting and production is unlike anything I have seen on network television and maybe that's why this show has still yet to reach a wider audience. It is a show that makes you think, feel and want to share the experience with others, like all good art should. It is a beautifully crafted show and the fact that many can't figure out how to market it, speaks to the very thing that makes it great. This show is not about football, or Texas but rather is a lovely slice of American life, capturing the human spirit of this country in the ordinary lives and everyday experiences of a small town. Buy both seasons and treat yourself to a rare treat in network television. It will not disappoint.

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - High School Football on Friday Night with the neighborhood!
I love football. And I love the characters in this TV Series. Of all the shows on TV last year, I made sure I saw or recorded this one. I looked forward to it all week. The hard-nosed coach with a soft spot. His lovely wife and cute teenage daughter. The quarterbacks, the hitters, young men struggling toward maturity. The cheerleader, the vixen, young ladies reaching for love and respect.
Looking forward to the new season.

Rating: 4 out of 5 stars - Well Written & Well Acted
In my opnion FNL is one of the best written and acted shows
I have seen over the last few years. Season 1 there was a lot
more focus on the Football and there was more instances of
the "shaky cam" (I personally didn't mind this as I felt if
gave you a more visceral feel to the action). Season 2, however,
there is less focus on the football and more development of
characters stories/problems off the football pitch. If you are
after a gritty/emotional well acted show with charming, funny characters this is for you. One thing to bear in mind is that Season 2 was cancelled
after 15 episodes therefore it does come to an abrupt end while
there are quite a few unresloved storylines.

Rating: 4 out of 5 stars - Why all the negativity?
Ok so from the onset of this show i was skeptical. cant say that i enjoyed the movie all too much, yet i usually love football related things. Then i watched the first season and was moved to teers. Being an actor myself, this is the type of show that i long to be a part of. amazing acing, directing, writing, everything about it is just amazing.

so when season two premiered i started watching, and then i was forced to work on friday nights so i never saw the second half of the season. when i was reading reviews they were pretty negative so i was upset. i was thinking how can my new favorite show be so bad. the truth is, it's not.

i understand that this is a football show, and toward the middle of the season, they kinda lost the football aspect. where as in the first season you could always tell what day of the week it is, toward the middle you couldnt tell anymore. i know they went to church twice without ever being on the field, and for a "real time" show this frustarated me. but the storylines with the characters were so compelling that i almost forgot. then they would be at practice and i kept thinking "well what about friday night?"

so then it got back on track. and there were football games again near the end of the season, and the whole storyline with smash that i thought was heartbreakingly good television. then the season got cut short by the writers strike which is the real travistry of this season.

the good news is that it has been renued. unfortunatly with this show, you have to skip ahead 9 months for the start of the new school/football year. i am intregued to find out what will happen to my favorite characters, and i am praying that Matt and Julie will suck it up and reunite for their senior year.

all and all this show just kinda lost it's "central" focus in the middle of the season, which is the football games and trying to get to state. i kinda chalked it up in my head as "oh they had three by weeks in a row!" LOL. anyway, it was still an amazing show, and i love it dearly and i cannot wait till next season! So it only looses one start because of the loss of football for a section of the season!
