When the last season ended I was thinking that there was no way I would get back into enjoying House again as I could not imagine it without the original supporting cast. However, it has been really enjoyable and captivating following the direction they are heading and also getting to gain insight into the new characters as they unfold. I love this show! Dr.House (Hugh Laurie) is such an excellent and diverse actor he can make just about any situation "work" and be beliveable! Go House!

I like this year's season, just as well as all earlier ones. The difference this time around is that the diagnostic challenges, while still convoluted and involving esoteric medicine, are hitting House while he's absent a team. He's having to boil the ocean on the HR side, and cure patients at the same time. House-like, he's brutal with his subordinates, but he uses their medical inputs to enable his diagnostics process, even as he fires them. Notice the pill-popping and white board aren't so in-your-face? They've had their day too. I hope the show gets another season after this one. The newbies aren't quite real yet, and we need to get to know them. Right now they're all kinda bland. But House ain't.

I might be more inclined to question the big cast shake-up. And I might be more inclined to question Laurie going back to his comedic roots so heavily, even if he does have me lol at least once per episode. But this was NOT an ensemble show, even if it was shaping up that way. It has a star. And, as it happens, that star can play both drama and black comedy really, really well. I don't think we're looking at a wind-down here. I think we're looking at a show spreading out and a guy showing off his chops (pun intended). Worked for Burnett, and it's working here. Including the inside jokes, like the crack about learning the language to the Russian fellow.
C'mon...you LIKE that it's not all corporate and networky and politically correct! Let 'em run...let's see where it leads. Better it should have a quirky and brilliant life than end up 8 seasons down the line sending the whole cast off to Hawaii or something for lack of new ideas!

To me, this series can be pretty darn good...I hope they keep it running and not saddle it with idiots and break it as they have done with so many decent tv series that get chopped and cut by studios and then rehashed into dung heap reruns...this series is a pretty good one which I can personally relate to as a medical professional. Enjoy the show, it is pretty decent...
This season was a bit weird not having the old staffers with House but they did some rather odd things and came out ok. Some of the plot ideas I think could have used some rethinking but they did the student stuff ok overall. I will be interested to see what happens with the old staffers in the next season.

sorry guys, but that su.cks! i live in overseas, i love house and i have to wait for about 1 year for season 4 (d*** we didn't even get season 3 completely till now!!!)!! IT IS NOT FAIR!!! i want to pay for a single episode!!! i know some ppl who would pay for these epis now, AND later (buying the dvds) but you don't want the money (EURO!)... and don't argue with having the rights or not having them or certain law things!!!
we live in the era of the WORLD WIDE WEB, restrictions to areas make NO SENSE!
but still, house gets all stars i can give.
