Dr. Agatston really opened my eyes to changing the way I eat. He is totally right that we should not be constantly dieting. What needs to happen is permanent changes to the way we eat so we never have to "diet" again. Believe me the first two weeks are hard, but once you get past that you will thank him for changing your life. Say good bye to dieting and hello to healthy living, feeling great, and being able to eat like a normal person. No one should have to starve to look good.

I lost 22 pounds in 3 months vigilantly following the advice and recipes in this book. I have never felt better in the past 6 years. I have bought 2 more of these books and shared them with my adult children, who are now following the diet. The one huge thing about this diet is that it stops the cravings, which is something I could not figure a way of doing before. The book is easy to understand and makes sense, when most other diet books have flaws. I would advise anyone to read this book and give the diet a try!

I bought this book after my doctor recommended the South Beach Diet for my high cholesterol and triglycerides. Its healthy, you don't go starving all day and it really explains a lot about how food effects your hunger. I'm on my 3rd week now and I've already lost around 10 lbs, with absolutely NO exersize! It shows different recipes, a glycemic index, and a list of DO's and DONT's for each stage. I recommend this book for everyone, dieting or not!

I actually checked this book out from the local library before purchasing my own copy, after all I already have a nice collection of diet books collecting dust. I started this plan thinking that it would go the way of all the others but found I was wrong! For me, this plan is very easy to follow and the pounds are just coming off without counting, measuring, or weighing anything. Every one of the recipes I have tried have been delicious and best of all, easy to prepare. I enjoyed the ones in this book so much I purchased 2 other of the cookbooks and am finding them just as enjoyable!

This book and the lessons it teches changed my life -- 3 years ago I began using it to cook and eat in a completely different, healthy fashion. Lost 20 lbs and have effortlessly kept them off! Oh, and the recipes are terrific!
