Truly, Mark Rashid must be here on earth to be the voice of the horse. Never have I read a more eloquent, spellbinding pair of books as 'Considering the Horse' and 'A Good Horse is Never a Bad Color.' If you read them as training manuals, you will find them informative and thought-provoking. If you read them for entertainment, you'll find humor, drama, compassion, and common sense.
Rashid doesn't offer a quick fix for horse training problems. Rather, he advocates considering the lesson from the horse's point of view, then using communication, patience, gentleness, and compassion to form a lasting partnership with the horse.
I urge you to read these books, apply Rashid's principles to your training programs, and spread the word to as many other horsepeople as you can. We owe it to our horses.

This is truly a great book. It gives tips which one really can understand and it reads brilliantly. It makes one defintely think about horses and the relationships we have with them and they with us.
This is the best book I've ever read about horses. Lots of savey :-)

I am halfway through this book and am loving it. I can't help but wonder if the trainer that Mark refers to in the part about catching hard-to-catch horses with a supposed "magic rope" is Pat Parelli. Any guesses out there? I'd love to know if anyone else has the same hunch.

I have been looking for information on solving problems surrounding my horses. I have found this book great with helping me solve them. It takes the point of view from the horse and rider, and does not use force in teaching. I have used some techniquics and found them to work wonders. Both my horses are much happier now, and so am I.

Mark shares his short stories about lessons learned and problems solved. Not the typical step-by-step book on horse training. Each story inspires the reader to look at every situation independently and from the horse's point of view. Mark also conducts clinics around the country where he uses his passive leadership techniques to help people better work WITH their horse. His clinic schedule is available on his website - look it up!
