Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Couldn't stop reading it
Loved this book. Wished it wouldn't have ended. Mark Rashid is the kind of person everyone would want to be. I put him in the class with Chris Cox, Clinton Anderson and Pat Parelli.

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Great book
I volunteer at a horse rescue. We see so many horses who have had a rough life. I want to try to understand them more. Mr Rashid helps me understand what some horses have had to deal with.
This book is great. It will make you laugh and cry.
I really enjoyed it. I wish more people would read it before they get a horse.

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Monty move over Mark Rashid is here!
Funny, forthright and no holds barred this book describes horses, horse training and owners as it really is.
Particularly hysterical is the day that Mark goes out and get successively kicked, stepped on thrown down and outsmarted all to end up with a new way to deal with the headshy horse that is frightened. Works yes, safer yes and he took the lumps to show you how.
Great read for anyone it discribes an art while peppered with views of the life. Well written and compelling it deserves to be compared with All Creatures Great and Small and has been.
Highly recommended. Can't wait to read the other ones.

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Best Horse Training Book I've ever read
This is the best horse training book I've ever read. He gives practical examples and illustrations that can be applied to any number of horses in my own barn! I'm excited to have a 'mentor' that actually sees resulsts apart from forcing a horse into something, tying his head down, etc. This man offers advice along the natural horsemanshp lines, but freely gives it! You don't have to buy DVD series after series...just read this book and start tackling some of your annoying/unsafe problems!

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - If you are a therapist....
Magic! If you are a therapist (I am - CranioSacral Therapist) this guy actually lays down a few pointers for you in his approach to horses. His general approach is centred on the horse and the way to approach it is down to you and not the horse - excellent - so many therapists think that because they learned the skills the client is supposed to come to them - wrong!! Many clients are unaware of their motivations. So if you read all this guys books it will assist change in the way you look at and assist your clients for ever. Check it out - his method is one of calm and measured involvement with the horse. he is still asking the horse to reveal to him what the horse wants/is willing and prepared to do to reach his goal. His books are an evolvement of his approach and how he came to the realisations. I have seen much of what I believe as a therapist but have been unable or unmotivated to put into words appear on his pages. I believe it's been an honour to learn from a real human being. A word before anyone says anything - as a therapist I simply do not have an agenda the way this guy has to - our clients can work out their agenda themselves. Anyway a thoroughly good read and looks to me like his stuff is applicable across the board in real life. It would have been great if that was the way your parents treated you and if the Presidaent of the USA had some of these methods then that would be radically new and welcome if totally alien to the world of politics. PS. I have the same review on each of his books
