Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - The Turbo-Protien Diet
I read Alma goes on the Turbo Diet & The Turbo-Protien Diet. They were a very fast read and similar. Alma goes on the Turbo Diet was very simple in its approach while The Turbo-Protien Diet was more technical.
I have tried many, many diets. I started this program last Sunday at 153pds. I am 5'7". I feel most comfortable at 130pds. As of today, I am at 145.5 (7.5pds lighter). I have a lot of energy.

HOWEVER, this is NOT a diet for anyone that has never drank protein shakes. Before the diet, I had 1 a day and a protein bar. The mixture from this diet tastes much worse than a regular protein shake. I am now very comfortable with the taste. The first day was the worse--determining amounts of powder to water.

I am really happy and will be on it for 7 more days. I work out 30-40 minutes a day normally and still have the energy to do so.
Good luck.

Rating: 2 out of 5 stars - so now you have the book
Maybe this is book is better than I rated it but since it is not very helpful about how/where to find the crucial ingredient of the diet, how could you know.

Rating: 4 out of 5 stars - Getting off the Yo-Yo!
I've read the book. Although a little difficult to get through, I did find it to be scientifically educational. For myself, I am not the type to follow any of the "diets" that tell you exactly what to eat and have you counting ounces, calories, etc. I loathe to have to prepare meals- specifically for dieting! It's a chronic reminder that I am dieting! I am choosing to do this diet because it is simple. Shakes are simple -I like simplicity! And I've done the "cut down the carbs, eat more protein" thing- I know it DOES work! But then I got away from it- too confident with my new figure... So now here I am, and yes, I'll be honest- I'm looking for a "quick-fix". But after reading the book, I realize how important it is to exercise and maintain a healthy eating lifestyle afterwards, and I will. I'll write an update on my success soon!

Rating: 3 out of 5 stars - Good book but not for everyone.. especially if your sensetiv
I tried this diet and honestly think i was so close to Metabolic poisoning. Lets just say I followed exactly as I should have but had laxative effects for 3 days straight (i think i was allergic to the powder which i still have all 4 cans/3 unopened if anyone is interested in coming to get them for cheep-im in nY) but anyhow, I almost died seriously! I was trying so hard but one afternoon I had this feeling that I was going to pass out (because I wasnt holding any thing in my system, not water , or vegetable soup or powder) so i was going to faint so i ate an apple right away felt so much better!! BE CAREFUL!!!!! it can be Extremely dangerous and you should be getting help from a friend or someone who can be there for you b/c you will need it when you cant think for yourself anymore! But, I went to the Atkins diet and LOVE it. (see my reviews from that one).. and am on it with my family members for life! It works for me, and for many others and should be read (OLD and NEW Diet revolution books) for LONG TERM and LONG LIFE tips/eating! Good luck.

Rating: 4 out of 5 stars - This WORKS!
I have been kind of amused at the comments from people who state that they aren't seeing posts from people who have lost weight, and from those that insist that this book is a marketing ploy. So here's my 2 cents worth: this diet works. 2 weeks is not a long time to fast and you are getting plenty of protein while doing it, which is the main concern. I am down 8 pounds beginning day 5. I am not overly hungry. I do NOT use the Almased powder--YOU DON'T NEED TO. I agree that that powder is expensive. I use a custom blend protein powder sweetened with Splenda, add some flax powder to each shake and a bit of half and half. And I'm losing fine. So, I would say to look at the book for the basic premise of the program, not specific products. (Sorry, Dieter) Just get a shake mix that you like that is low carb--VERY low carb. Mine is 1 carb gram per serving. I tried just about every diet out there, including all the low carb ones, and I will go back to low carb for maintenance. But I hardly lost anything. This is working for me. And I emphasize ME. Those of you who bash the book and preach "the only way to lose is" need to remember that everyone is different and not everyone responds the same way. If you are insulin resistant, as I am, eating high carb, low fat is a sure guarantee for me to put on weight. But maybe not for others. So, please bear that in mind while you are unfairly criticizing what the majority of posts are reporting as excellent results!
