Rating: 3 out of 5 stars - 3.5 stars - Not her best but still fun
American Daisy Bowman has spent three seasons in London looking for a suitable husband. Now her father has issued an ultimatum that she has until the end of May or must marry his choice; Mathew Swift, her father's assistant.

Daisy remembers Mathew as awkward, tall, disproportionate and wiry with no grace or charm. The reality turns out to be considerably different.

Kleypas is one of my favorite romance authors. Daisy is a delightful character, fanciful and rather fey but with a solid core. She is surrounded by a wonderful family, even her strong-willed father.

The story is unrealistic and predictable, but it's a romance so it can get away with it. It is sexy and fun with just a touch of suspense. It was the perfect book for a dark, cold, rainy day.

Rating: 2 out of 5 stars - disappointing end of a series
I have only recently discovered Lisa Kleypas, but I like it a lot. I do not usually like romantic series and I am not very fond of Regency novels, either, but I have to recognize that I followed this wallpaper series with all my heart. The three previous books were charming and sexy and very romantic, some of the best I have read. But what a disappointing end! Yes, the girl was good enough, and the boy, well, at least he was good-looking. But nothing happens in all the book. Words and words, pages and pages, and nothing interesting: nearly always in the same house and surroundings, you know from the beginning he loves her, and there were no scenes really hot or sexy between them, at least not like in "Lady Sophia's Lover", which keeps on being, for me, Kleypas at her best!

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - unbelievable
Lisa Kleypas is her funny self in this romantic tale! I laughed and cried and laughed some more! Must read.

Rating: 3 out of 5 stars - Not on par with others in the series
I've liked the Kleypas romances I've read so far because they generally contain gentle romance, humor and are all-around non-threatening. I enjoyed It Happened One Autumn best, followed by Devil in Winter (haven't read the first in this series though). Scandal in Spring, although OK, seemed a little duller than the other two. I might have liked it better if Swift (the hero) hadn't physically transformed from a scarecrow Daisy (the heroine) remembered in America to the buff studmuffin she meets in England. The obstacles meant to separate Daisy and Swift were rather weak and obvious, and too easily overcome. The big menace, such as it was, was left until the very end, so there wasn't much of a build-up either. It an OK read, but as a capper to the series it is a disappointment, and I enjoyed the middle two books much more.

Rating: 3 out of 5 stars - Good, but not as good as the first three!
Ok, first of all, I have to say that this was a good story, but following on the heels of the first three, it is kinda a disappointment. However, I did like that the characters from the previous novels still were invovled in the story, and I did like how the story ended, so all in all, it wasn't really a bad book.
