Editorial Review:
Description: Stockard Channing is Miriam, an "ugly duckling" who is dumped on by everyone. After her heart is broken by a callous campus jock, Miriam tearfully speeds off in her car and is involved in a serious accident. Plastic surgery is required, and when Miriam emerges from behind the bandages, she is ravishingly beautiful. It's payback time when she uses her new attractiveness to exact revenge on all those who wronged her. Edward Asner plays the police inspector who's hot on the trail of the femme fatale. A dark comedy written by Joan Rivers, THE GIRL MOST LIKELY TO... will leave you in stitches!

Most of the made for TV movies in the early 70's disappeared, this comedy didn't and rightly so. This is a really funny comedy based on the premise that an ugly duckling turns into a swan, but what if the swan wants to get even? Miriam is an ugly duckling who is used by everyone, her maybe fiance, her vain roomate, the local jock, the local pool shark, and an intern.
Miriam never really kills any of these people directly but uses their vices and weaknesses against them in imaginative ... Read More

I originally saw this movie YEARS ago when network tv still showed late night movies. I actually didn't get to see the movie from the beginning so never saw the many acts of cruelty faced by the main character, Miriam portrayed by the always enjoyable, Stockard Channing.
As an adult, I learned that Joan Rivers wrote the screenplay for this movie so the darkness of the comedy made perfect sense to me given Ms. Rivers' humor about her own looks.
As others have eloquently stated ... Read More

I love this movie since the first time I saw it, back when it first came
out. I have been looking for soooo long, and I just knew that Amazon.com
would have it so I just tried yestersday and sure enough they did, so I
ordered it and it will probaly come tomorrow. I can't wait to see it but I still remember what the movie is all about, the best part is at the end what a shocker Stockard Channing was great. I just have to say I loved
the way she changed sooo much it was incredible. ... Read More

I've been looking for this movie for many years and finally found it on Amazon. The quality of the DVD is good, despite the original being a made-for-TV movie from a looooong time ago. So glad it was available here.

I searched for this for several years, and a couple years ago bought a bootleg version that was so incredibly poor, I couldn't even really hear or see most of it.
Still, it's a fantastic film. I remembered it from way back when it must have been on tv and I was just a kid. The somersault scene and the bathtub scene stayed with me for years. I was so glad to be able to see it again.
Although a bit dated, now, it still is remarkable. Stockard Channing, never known for her absolute ... Read More
