Skeletal Fitness by Mirabai Holland - Osteoporosis Prevention Bone Loading and Strength Training Exercises:A Workout For BonesIf you have any exercise experience don't purchase this item. It is more for seniors who have have been sedentary their whole lives. It's really slow with exercises that are way to easy. If you're looking for something that will give you a good work out this is not the product for you.

I was so pleased with this DVD. Mirabai is a no-nonsense trainer who explains every move in detail and provides great information about osteoporosis. She is fit, but not a hard-body beauty so one doesn't feel intimidated. She is calm and thorough. It is as though she is in the room with you. I am in my 70's and I can keep up with the exercises for the most part. If I tire, I just pause and wait for the next group of exercises or continue with the program the next day. Since I have been working out with this DVD, I have found it so much easier (and more comfortable) to move about. For example, getting in and out of the car and turning to look behind, when I'm backing the car out. Lifting and reaching for items is easier too. I find I am lifting with my leg and arm muscles, instead of my back muscles. I am up to 5 pound weights on the upper body and use the 1 pound weights for the legs (I'm ready to increase this weight).

I was diagnosed with Osteoperosis this year. I'm 51 and it was a real wake up call. I have always walked for fitness but I have also added this video to my routine. I do this workout 3X a week. It has great exercises for areas of your body mostly prone to the Osteoperosis. It doesn't require special equipment and you don't even need to use the weights if you aren't up to that level. You will still get a good bone loading workout.

I do a lot of different kinds of workouts----pilates, yoga, ballwork, floor work, kickboxing, aerobics, etc. This is the best workout I have seen for concentrating on the bones and also for protecting the bones for those who already have osteopenia/osteoporosis. With this workout I have exercised parts of my body that I have never worked out before. Mirabai really knows her physiology.
