Product Description: Apples to Apples is the wild, award-winning card and party game that provides instant fun for four to ten players. It's as easy as comparing Apples to Apples. You can just open the box, deal the cards, and you're ready to play. Select the card from your hand that you think is best described by a card played by the judge. If the judge picks your card, you win that round. And everyone gets a chance to be the judge. Each round is filled with surprising and outrageous comparisons from a wide range of people, places, things, and events. Fast moving and refreshing, Apples to Apples is perfect for any get-together with family and friends.
Amazon.com Product Description: The concept of Apples to Apples is pretty easy: match the adjective card on the table with a noun or verb card from your hand. But that’s only the tip of the iceberg. Watch hilarity ensue as players match terms like "Fluffy" to "Mildew" or "Sticky" to "Horror film." While it may be limited by the hand of cards you’re dealt (what if you don’t have a perfect match for "Harry Truman"?), there is some strategy to the game. Each round of card matching is judged by a different player at the table. So you can use it to your advantage to play a card that you know is a shoo-in for certain judges.
 | | Use the red cards in your hand to make hilarious matches to the green card on the table. | When someone wins a round, they place that Green Apple card in front of them on the table. This, effectively, is the point tracking system and eliminates the need for pen and paper. Since the person who has gathered the most Green Apples is the winner at the end of the game, it behooves players to lobby for their cards. Again, hilarity ensues.
The fact that everyone is judge at some point makes this game all-inclusive. The fast pace and lack of accessories make it portable. The combinations thrown together in Mad Lib style make it addictive. This Party Box version comes with more than 700 Red Apples and 252 Green Apples to keep game play interesting for quite a while. But if you’re playing with a more adventurous crowd, check out these variations on Wikipedia.
The Party Box edisiton of Apples to Apples includes 756 Red Apple cards, 252 Green Apple cards, and two deluxe card trays.

On the advice of my grandson, I purchased the game, 'Apples to Apples', and took it on our family reunion vacation. Ten of us played late into the night and we can't wait to get together to play it again. Great fun! While some cards were a tad over the heads of the younger players, the cards matched to them helped the boys understand the original card. It's less about competition than about laughing and sharing. It's good for all ages!

Each family member has favorite "instant win" cards, all different and all with hilarious reasons behind the selection. Have both expansion sets too. Great fun no matter what age. Everybody loves to be the judge! The bigger trhe group, the more crazy the answers get! We've learned that the most logical match is often NOT the judges choice. Random answers are cool!

a great game to play with friends or a small group of students...it tricks them into learning grammar...ha ha!

The more people you have the more fun the game is. There are no wrong or right answers. The judge chooses the answer they like best. The answers can be so funny you will have a lot of laughs with minimal brain work.

Expensive, but well worth it. We have played this game for a month, and will continue to do so. It is easy to learn and you can play for hours. All you do is match an adjective like "beautiful" with a noun like "Madonna". There's plenty of time for friendly diagreement b/w rounds.I highly recommend this game to anyone who enjoys board games.
