Amazon.com Product Description:
You are invited to Melissa and Doug's birthday party! Let the fun begin with this playful birthday cake. It has enough slices and toppings for every party guest the whole family can join in the fun. Now kids ages three to five can throw birthday parties year round.

A Wish Come True
This simple wooden toy fosters creative play and is a wonderful addition to imaginary kitchens everywhere. Use the wooden spatula to serve the cake and the fake candles to make a wish. This toy will make an excellent birthday gift for future bakers.

The cake itself is painted white with blue icing swirls and has seven removable candles that fasten to the top. Three delectable toppings -- strawberries, jellybeans, and gumdrops -- can be added to the top and the cake comes in a decorative box kids love. This delicious dessert is already cut into slices that fasten together with Velcro and easily pull apart. It also has a bright red serving platter and each of the six pieces is about the size of a real piece of cake. Also, as a well-made and durable wooden toy, it withstands child play and the paint won't easily chip off, even if it is accidentally dropped. Storing all the pieces may be a challenge, but a party box is included to contain the candles and decorations.

Features
This birthday cake is a hit for those who like to help out in the kitchen. Children love redecorating and serving it using the wooden spatula. Unlike many of today's modern toys, it encourages creativity, as children get to design their own cake and parties. It amuses future hosts and hostesses for hours and is an exceptional value as a 33-piece set. This cake remains child's favorite for years and includes enough candles to celebrate a lot of birthdays. The cake has a 10-1/2-inch diameter.

What's in the Box
Includes 6-slice cake, serving plate, 19 toppings, 7 candles, wooden spatula and storage box.

Three delectable toppings can be added, and the cake comes in a decorative box

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - My daughter LOVES, LOVES, LOVES this toy!!!!
Super cute, super durable and super fun for playing 'birthday party.' The perfect birthday gift for any young child. (age 2-6 or so I would say, although it does have some smallish round pieces which are about the size of a quarter)

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Birthday cake without the sugar!
All our family birthdays fall in September, and birthday cake takes on a life of its own. So, this toy was a nice way for our 2-year-old granddaughter to re-enact all the excitement. She's had lots of fun with it.

Rating: 2 out of 5 stars - Very Disappointed
I bought this toy for my daughter's 5th birthday. By the end of the day, red paint had chipped off the cake platter and the velcro was pulling away from the sides of the cake slices. I thought my daughter and her 6-year-old sister would have a lot more fun with this toy. They love playing pretend house and store with their plastic foods, and they love having parties with their stuffed animals. They haven't played with this since the birthday. Also, I was disappointed that the wood tray didn't come ... Read More

Rating: 2 out of 5 stars - Made in China
I was a huge fan of Melissa and Doug products. I went in to buy this set at a local toy store and was saddened to see the Made in China label- in fact all the products that were in that particular store by Melissa and Doug were made in China. What bothered me about that fact was that they market themselves as USA made and that clearly isn't the fact anymore.

I chose not to buy it anymore- particularly with the amount of red paint on this toy food product. Now they do say they test and ... Read More

Rating: 4 out of 5 stars - Great toy
I bought this toy for my 2 year old nephew and he loved it!! It was easy to handle with the pieces staying put with the Velcro. He felt very important and he sliced everyone a piece of cake! He even took a candle to bed with him.
