This was the first Melissa and Doug toy I bought for my 3 year old. I was very pleased that she mastered it by herself after us only working on it with her 1 time. The pieces are large and durable. They go together easily and the colors are bright. Each piece is very recognizable as to where it goes, no ambiguous pieces. The puzzle is not square so it did not give me the opportunity to teach her about starting with the edge pieces, but she just starts with the animal piece she finds first and ... Read More

My 2 grandsons will work this often they are 8 and 4. The picture is so pretty you could almost frame it the pieces are large for little hands and they are thick to keep them from getting out of shape. I would recommend this to anyone with children.
I feel children need more items like puzzles and books and less TV and Video games.
We as family will sit down with them and join in with working puzzles and that gives family time.

This farm puzzle is an excellent choice for children over the age of 3. I really like the unique barn shape of the puzzle. The pieces are thick and durable. My son is three and so far the puzzle has survived for one year.

This was our first floor puzzle - my daughter starting playing with it at about age 2.5 It's very appealing with the familiar farm animals, and it's fun to recreate the outline of the barn instead of a rectangular puzzle. The pieces are thick and durable. It has held my daughter's interest for many weeks; we have been known to take it apart and redo it several times in one day, and now she can do it largely on her own.

These puzzles are almost impervious to my 3 and 1 year olds mistreatment of them by walking on and chewing on the pieces. My three year old can do this by himself with only a little frustration at the oddly joining shapes due to it not being a normal rectangle. But we put this and all of his other M&D puzzles together at least every other day.
