Financially more successful than his contemporary Albrecht Durer, Cranach's influence on the development of German painting was profound. I was browsing through the book store and was attracted to a new book that accompanies an exhibition about the german painter Cranach, not so famous as Durer. The beautiful cover of the book invited me to pick it up and open it. I spent nearly an hour studying the gorgeous artwork and rich information about the artist, his times, and technique.
