Rating: 2 out of 5 stars - A pointless book
This book is perhaps the worst-written book that I have ever read. Granted, it is the Black Library which doesn't inspire much confidence in plot or storyline to begin with, but there is absolutely no reason this book should have been written other than the fact that Games Workshop wants more of your money with no regard for quality. There are so many grammatical mistakes and misspelled words in this book, that I have a very hard time believing that an editor even looked at this before it went to ... Read More

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Another great chapter in the HH History
Many people don't realize the actual scope of the Horus Heresy, it took years for the plots to thicken and unfold. Many of the stories actually happen in the same time frames, so readers think "this book has nothing to do with the HH", or "I don't understand why this book ended with a cliffhanger". This is a "Historical" account of many events leading up and explaining what happened to lead up to, during and the final confrontation of the Horus Heresy. If you expect the story to end in 3 books, ... Read More

Rating: 2 out of 5 stars - Needs Improvement
I really doubt that I'll read another book from this series. I appreciate that they (the authors) espire to prolong the story but I was ready for some type of conclusion several books ago. The latest book was a choir to finish. Note to publisher, move on!

Rating: 4 out of 5 stars - True Warhammer 40K Fans read on.......
Another great book under the Horus Heresy umbrella. I am getting more than a little sick of people whining about certain books in this series being useless "side-plots". What complete nonsense! THEY are not the ones telling the story, BL are and so far they are doing a very good job. Who are YOU to tell anyone else how to tell their own stories?

I for one am very interested in learning about the background to the main relevant legions and chapters. I thought Descent of Angels was a fantastic ... Read More

Rating: 1 out of 5 stars - Disappointing
In a word... disappointing. The HH series started out great. Horus Rising, False Gods, and Galaxy in Flames were all wonderful narratives that brought the reader along the path that will eventually (we hope) lead up to the ultimate battle between Horus and the Emperor to decide the fate of the Galaxy. Sadly, the books after those first three seem to be less and less about the Heresy and more like side stories soley to keep the series alive and the dollars flowing into Black Library's bank account. I am ... Read More
