Rating: 3 out of 5 stars - Festivals Family and Food
This book is full of good old-fashioned information for embracing yearly celebrations, however I did not find it enjoyable to read (because of it's outdated format) in comparison to the other books from 'Hawthorn Press' I have been enjoying.

Rating: 2 out of 5 stars - Not for Southern Hemisphere Dwellers

There are many songs but unless you can read music there is no way of knowing the tune. And of course the songs and poems all relate to seasons, animals and plants of the northern hemisphere. Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Even the cover gives me joy!
I bought this book when my daughter was a one, she is now twenty-four. This book brought us our family such joy. Now that my children are grown, 24, 27, and 29 and the oldest is married. This book is still one of the key elements of celebration in our home. We are on on our thrid book and this holiday season I will be purchacing three more to send home with my children.

The recipes use British measurements and ingredients, so for Americans they will require some adjustment to find ingredients in some cases.

This is a useful book, but given its length it could have been better. Perhaps ... Read More

Rating: 3 out of 5 stars - I liked the itdea but not this book.
I found this book did not meet my expectations. I was delighted to find that the book All Year Round was just what I was expecting and enjoyed it much more. Great ideas, but a bit cluttered.
