In the fun and humorous manner we have come to expect from this author, Jacobia finds herself the unwilling recipient of a houseguest who shows up five days before Jake is due to host an afternoon tea with the local Garden Club (or some such commitee). Ironically enough, Jacobia's houseguest disappears without a trace, but then his mournful girlfriend and her uncle show up. Jacobie Tiptree has a great deal on her plate just now. Her old house is still in the process of restoration, her exhusband still lives in Eastport, her son is seeing a girl she doesn't like, her ghost is unpredictable, and worst of all, a summer guest she doesn't remember inviting has invaded her home for the summer to finish his dissertation. Jacobia "Jake" Tiptree used to be a high flyer living in a posh townhouse in Manhattan with her physician husband and their son.
