This is an adorable book. The fact that it teaches manners is an added bonus. To me, the importance is that my two year old granddaughter can "read" it herself. At first I thought she could just give me the answers to the questions and that was cute enough. But then I overheard her "reading" it to her baby doll. What great self confidence this builds in a toddler. It is the best time to start building self esteem and making a child feel "smart".

While I think the book will be terrific in a year to actually teach manners, at this point, my little guy is just entertained by the book. The pictures are simplistically expressive. He giggles every time we get to the second scenario (saying "Excuse me" when burping). He likes the participation of the turning pages. We typically end up reading this book 10 times a day, with my little fellow signing for more as I turn the last page....

Just perfect for the Wee Ones. This little flap book shows the way to good manners without preaching. A perfect book delight any small child. Ann Clarke, author of People Are So Different! based on tolerance and understanding.

My daughter and I have been reading Karen Katz books together since she was able to sit up. This is an excellent addition to our collection! My daughter is now two-and-a-half, and she just LOVES the lift-a-flaps in these books. We have been working on manners, so this book is perfect. After reading these books a few times together, my daughter is able to read it back to me from memory, and she feels so proud when she finishes a book by herself. A book-loving toddler will delight in lifting the full-page flaps and repeating the polite phrases--some in response to silly requests. I have received more "No thank yous" and "Yes pleases" since reading this book with my child.
