I completely understand some of the negative reviews I've read, but despite the drawbacks this can actually be a very enjoyable game. I gave it as a gift to a relative and the whole family spent a fun afternoon playing it. The casting is apparently an acquired skill, since some of us were very adept at it and others couldn't quite figure it out. Even the two 7-yr-olds that played it loved it. This Bass Pro fishing game for WII is a blast! It took a little bit to figure out the fishing rod but it is actually easier to play the game without it. The rod is a little heavy for young people and for those of us with carpal tunnel it just is too bulky. But you can play without it and it is lots of fun. Offers a lot of different lakes to fish and fish to catch. You win prizes and ultimately qualify for the Bass Pro Invitational tournament. I would highly recommend this game.

I fell over laughing when my sweetie gave me this as one of my Christmas gifts. How cool!
All summer, I'm biking to the nearby park lake with my reel to try my luck, so I was very psyched when I saw this (I'd never even heard of it.)
