i looked all over for a foam mat for my son, as he is very active, and very messy!! all the ones i saw were puzzles, which meant they had some little pieces the baby can pull out and potentially choke on. THIS mat is just comprised of giant 2feetx2feet squares, making it much safer for my little one. and as far as quality, durability, and ease of use are concerned, it's GREAT!! very thick, thicker than most others out there, and simple to put together and take apart the pieces if you want to move ... Like many parents with a baby I alphabet foam mats to 1) protect my son from falls 2) minimize noise for our downstairs neighbors (when my son drops wooden toys on the floor) and 3) to protect our wood floors.
