Product Description: Embracing the wilder side of sport fishing, Shimano Xtreme Fishing is the only videogame to let players take the fight to the fish with bow and speargun in addition to the traditional rod and reel. Featuring cutting-edge fishing gear like Shimano Voltaeus fishing rods, Hoyt bows, AMS Bowfishing reels and accessories, and Muzzy arrow points, players hunt for a legendary catch from the deck of a free-roaming boat or underwater in full SCUBA gear.

I bought this game based on the reviews of the Bowhunting and Spearfishing and am glad to have it..I had a lot of trouble hitting anything at first but then I started using my Wii Zapper for the Bow and Spear..Lots easier to hit the target..Now my only complaint it that some stages take too long to complete..You drive the boat or swim around for a long time trying to find the last few assigned fish..During the spearfishing the Sharks and Gators are easy enough to deal with but the Pirhana are impossible ... Interesting game, but initially very difficult to understand. Once you figure it out, it's mildly entertaining, but certainly nothing like real fishing. 4 lb. bluegills? 13 lb. walleyes caught on surface lures? Come on, get real.... The spear and bowfishing is difficult because of Wii aiming issues - I'm not sure if this is a Wii problem or a software problem. Anyhow - the game is OK and mildly entertaining, but certainly not addicting and often frustrating.

My son got this game for Christmas. He began bow fishing so I thought he would enjoy it. He loves it! You can do tournaments or free fish. In addition to bow fishing, you can spear fish or fish with a rod & reel. There are many fishing games out there, but this is the first bow fishing game I have seen. It's unique & fun. I would recommend this game if you love fishing. It's a great game for under $30.

Shimano Xtreme fishing is probably the most entertaining fishing game on the Wii. In addition to traditional rod and reel fishing there is bowfishing and spearfishing. The rod and reel fishing is fun but doesn't do anything new for the genre. The main difference in rod fishing is it is a lot faster paced than most other fishing games, you will never be bored sitting and waiting for a bite. Bowfishing and especially spearfishing is where the real excitement starts. In bowfishing you drive around on a ... Read More

This is not a "hardcore fishing simulation." Rather, it is a fast and fun "action fishing" game. Actually, 3 games in one. First there is traditional fishing which is similar to other games, but moves at a much faster pace. Then the game adds bowfishing (using a bow and arrow to shoot at fish from a boat) and spear fishing (swimming underwater and pursuing fish with a speargun.) Both are fun and, as far as I know, totally unique game experiences.
There is also a mutiplayer "shooting gallery" ... Read More
