Editorial Review:
Product Description: Play baseball without a bat or a mitt with Major League Baseball 2K8 Fantasy All-stars for Nintendo DS. Control the power and technique of your swings and the speed and accuracy of your pitch by performing specific gestures and intuitive usage of the stylus. Fielding, baserunning and other controls will use the DS touch screen, as you drag and trace lines to execute these specific baseball actions. Get special "power ups" to complete incredible batting, pitching, and fielding performances. Force your opponents to chase after the "chicken ball" that runs away from fielders once it's on the ground, or confuse them with a "crazy ball" that takes an unpredictable flight path. Pitchers can throw amazing pitches such as a "super splitter" that splits the ball into two pieces to confuse the batter or a "fireball" that screams over the plate at rocket speeds while engulfed in flames. Fielders can join in the power up fun with the "brick wall" that causes a wall to instantly rise out of the ground to stop the ball in its tracks or the "super jump" that allows them to jump incredibly high toward the ball in flight.

At the time of writing this, there are only three baseball video games for the DS: 2K7, Backyard Baseball, and 2K8: Fantasy All-Stars. 2K7 has received such unanimously bad reviews that it might as well have a plague warning label on it. So in essence, there are only two baseball video games for the DS.
Backyard Baseball and 2K8 are both pretty solid games. ... Read More

Before playing this game you will need to keep 2 things in mind, a) this is a fun arcade version of baseball & b)this is DS, not a PS3 or Xbox 360.
I think most of the reviews on the web have been accurate, fun and unique. I also enjoy the fact that I have to master the hitting, just like in baseball advance for the GBA, which I though set it apart from most baseball games I have played where you just had to press a button to hit the ball(boring).
I will say that I would ... Read More
