Everson's book is about average, and that's about it. As a big Laurel and Hardy fan, I thought it sad because the book had potential to be very good.
1) While reading the first 80 or so pages, it felt to me as though Everson only had a minor interest in L&H, and was not a fan. It felt as though he was completing a project. He was very negative about most of the films in the book. Some of the "reviews" barely recieved a paragraph for a description or rating.

This is a classic volume on the boys. I found mine in a library sale a few years ago and paid a whopping 25 CENTS for it. It is a MUST HAVE for L&H fans. The author covers the early years of both Stan and Ollie before being teamed up as well as the classic films that fans love. With plenty of great photographs and lively descriptions, this is one to get for your collection.
