Editorial Review:
Product Description: This program starts with warm-up and flexibility exercises and then teaches several chi-gung exercises (to increase the flow of internal energy). Tai-chi movements are then taught as exercises and are then linked together to teach a short, 14 movement Tai-chi sequence. Viewers can practice each of the exercise sessions separately if they wish, as there are DVD menu chapters leading to each session. This is an excellent program for anyone who is not used to vigorous exercise and wants a balanced exercise program.

I ordered this DVD along with 2 other similar titles by different authors for my 83 year old Mom who is taking up Tai Chi. The other Tai Chi related titles were really quite good. When we played 'Tai-chi Exercises for Seniors' I was appalled by how sub-amateur the video and audio quality was for a DVD priced at $29.95; what a.... umm... disappointment.
Once you get past the opening text that scrolls for what seems like an eternity, you're presented with the spectacle of an over-lit ... Read More

I found this video very slow. I would rate myself below average on the mobility chart(a 4 on a scale of 1-10). For me this video was to slow paced. The content was good but just didn't have the challenge needed to keep me motivated. The instructor although very informative was also lacking any motivational skills. It seemed to me that he was very uncomfortable in front of a camera. I used this DVD a few times and opted to return to a beginners tape which was more interesting and more challenging. ... Read More

This is a very helpful program for seniors interested in learning Tai-chi. First, it provides flexibility and warm-up exercises to prepare the body. Next there are chi-gung exercises to improve the flow of energy through the body. Next the Tai-chi movements are presented one at a time, as exercises so that you can get used to each movement. The basic principles of movement, proper breathing etc. are carefully explained. The last section is a short Tai-chi form, linking the movements that you just ... Read More

The picture quality of this video is EXTREMELY poor, very grainy and obviously homemade with no production values. Content is thin and not well presented, there just isnt much here. If it was cheap it might be passable, but his price on this is way out of line. You'd be money ahead with a book.

This is a great general exercises program for seniors, beginning with warm ups and stretching and continuing to chi-gung exercises and using Tai-chi movements as exercises. A fourteen movement form is shown, using the movements previously used as exercises. The form is shown from the front and again from the rear. This is a good introduction to Tai-chi and provides a well rounded exercise program. The DVD is manufactured by the "burned" system which 95% of DVD players play. Some of the players manufactured ...
