We ordered this toy for my son's 9th birthday and he loves it. It is a good-sized rocket and the electronic "countdown" adds a realistic touch. The rocket is detailed and comes apart into the multiple stages and the capsule on top also breaks down into multiple pieces. My only complaint is that it is a little flimsier than I anticipated. It also might be a little difficult for a younger child to put together without assistance and also might not be appropriate if you are looking for a sturdy toy....it ... Read More

Our boys, 6 & 4, just love the rocket and play with it a lot. The stages are too hard for them to put together, so Dad has to help out now and then. Very impressive toy, looks great standing in their room, good detail.

This is a beautifully detailed and wonderful model. You can simulate each of the steps on the Apollo moon mission. The command module can separate from its thruster, and the hatch can open and you can see the 3 astronäuts. The LEM can be attached to the command module, and the LEM can land and "blast off" from its base. My only complaint and it is a minor one is that the 4 pieces of the rocket between the 3rd stage and the command module, which fold out beautifully to reveal the LEM, keep falling off. ... Read More

Normally, I would be suspicious of anything with the word "ultimate" in its name, but the Buzz Aldrin Ultimate Saturn V Rocket is indeed that--and more. Assembly of this toy was minimal (the ultimate plus), and its size was impressive (about three feet high). Best of all, it included authentic count-down and take-off sounds.
If you are looking for the "ultimate" in space play, this toy is one that will exceed expectations.

My son (Grade 4) needed the rocket to serve as prop for a school project he was doing. It was a hit and he got an 'A+' so it worked in that regard.
As a fan of the Apollo missions when I was growing up, I know that this rocket assembly isn't 100% faithful to the orginal design but the changes are very subtle and were done more out of necessity for a low-priced model that is handled by the typically un-gentle hands of 4th graders.
