Product Description: You can battle your way to Berlin as the Soviets or march to Moscow as the Germans. WWII is still the backdrop but the action unfolds in the bitter fighting for control of the eastern front.
Amazon.com Product Description: Panzer General III: Scorched Earth combines war strategy with a 3-D combat simulator to put the gamer in an engrossing World War II environment. There are eight western-front campaigns--five Allied and three German. Twenty single-player and multiplayer scenarios are included. Battle up to three other players over the Internet. Fine-tune your armies before heading off into battle. Plot with the Soviets as they try to take Berlin, or march with the Germans toward Moscow, all in 16-bit color with 3-D animations of more than 300 units.

It's not a typical online WWII or shooting game, but the one that you play with computer enemy. It has turns limit, and you can control several units including tank, infantry, artillery, fighter, etc. The scene is 3D, but I recommend Panzer General 2 more. Because in PG2 there are at least 5 countries, however in PG3 you can only choose Soviet Union or Germany.

By now, the General game engine is getting old and dry, but that doesn't mean I don't still enjoy it. Panzer General III takes this game engine to an entirely new level. Being able to hire and promote leaders to give units a certain attribute boost is a great addition to an already satisfying game. I can't give a full 5 stars on this one, though, because the same game engine is being used that SSI has used for all of it's previous General titles. I happen to like that game engine, but this one ... Read More

The seller claimed that this disk worked but it looks like it was run through a washing machine. I was unable to run it so I can't give a review. I suggest you buy it new and save yourself some time and consider the extra money well spent.

I like this game because it fixed the big problems of its predecessor PG3D Assault. Firstly, it only costs 1 slot for any unit regardless of experience level. This means I no longer have to put up with ridiculous 3 to 1 or even 5 to 1 odds.
Secondly, the crashes when I ambush the computer are gone.
The units also are better animated than before. Now, you see things like tanks traversing their turrets towards their targets to fire.
However, this game creates new ... Read More

I have been playing this game for about 5 years now and still do enjoy it. It gives a realistic feeling to the battles on the eastern front from a strategic point of view.
The only problems I had was the Rostov scenario was not operational. In the scenario builder versions, the Russians seem to run out of steam as to quality fighting units as they are destroyed by the Germans. This was not the case in real life. The T-34's just kept on coming. I also wish that the player had more control over ... Read More
