First, I hate the Steinbrenner era Yankees, so my review might be biased. However, there are few baseball fans who take the game as seriously as I do, having played, coached, and umpired for the past 40 years. As a coach, I was a stat freak, tracking every facet of the game in an effort to find ways to win. But seriously, guys, how many wild pitches, sac flies, double plays, etc. that an individual player threw/hit in a given season is BORING.

It helps if you are a fan of the Yankees when you read this book, but I was quite surprised that you truly can be a fan of the game and loathe the Yankees and still enjoy this book very much.
