I've owned this book for over 10 years now and it's still the only book I turn to for many of the different cookies I make. I've used it so much that it's falling apart.
Seriously, I have yet to make a bad cookie out of this book (I've probably made half the recipes by now). It's well-illustrated and informative too.
I'm usually far more likely to cook 'on the fly' and not actually use a recipe when I make supper, but for baking I trust this book.

All the cookies in this book have made me the bake sale queen! Children have nightmares when they think of a party without my cookies. The Scotish Shortbread recipe has been referred to as "elvin bread."

This cookbook has made "my" Snickerdoodles (page 37) famous. From nephews and nieces to friends to my own kids, they just can't get enough. You will find the best recipe for Peanut Butter cookies here as well on page 32. Every recipe I have tried is excellent. I am now buying another book as my copy is thrashed from over-use.

This book was wonderful. Not only were the recipes easy to follow, they had everything from homestyle varieties to "fancy" recipes, while keeping them as simplistic as possible. A very good bonus for a beginning cook, or for an expert just looking for variety.

In ten years of sitting on my kitchen counter, this book has become the most soiled and used of all of my recipe books. As my tastes have changed, I've tried out about a dozen different recipes over the years...and have yet to come across a bad one. The pictures in here are incredibly helpful, the writing style clear, and the ingredients common enough to be easily accessible. My favorite recipies: the snickerdoodles and the koulourakias! Happy Baking!
